3 things our curators do every day
Have you ever wondered what a Saatchi Art curator does every day? From working personally with artists and collectors around the world to developing in-depth articles about our artists, my job is to research, nurture and support our talented up-and-coming artists. Here’s a breakdown of what exactly that means.
Art Advice
Each artist on Saatchi Art is considered by our curatorial team for recommendations to clients through our Art Advice Service. I work with a wide variety of clients and provide expert advice on acquiring artwork specifically tailored to their needs, whether it be a statement piece for a grand entryway, a nautical accent for a beach house or a series of smaller works for a salon wall .
I curate an individual selection of artist works for a collector to consider and make additional recommendations based on their feedback. When a collector has questions about a specific work, I consult artists to provide them with all the information they need. I can also help secure a sale or new commission for you and often by negotiating with the client we can get you a better fee. Tip: Keeping your artist portfolios up to date helps us recommend your work to our clients.
artist functions

As the curator of Saatchi Art, I’m always on the lookout for artists to be featured in our special series, which includes Invest in Art, One to Watch, Inside the Studio, and Artist of the Day. We highlight the work of these artists and provide our collectors with valuable background information.
I coordinate our One to Watch series highlighting emerging artists. These artists are usually in the early stages of their careers and are already attracting attention for their work through exhibitions, awards and residencies. To be considered, I would recommend filling out your Saatchi Art profile in full and including a biography or statement of the artist, educational background, exhibition history, awards and residencies.
exhibitions on site

Most of what we do at Saatchi Art is done online, but we know the importance of viewing art in person. We host exhibitions and art fairs around the world and have featured our artists’ work in Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, Dublin, the Hamptons, Austin and Sydney.
We’ve also opened our 1,300-square-foot gallery in our Los Angeles offices, where we present four exhibitions a year. We select local artists to participate in these exhibitions and welcome all mediums and styles. We focused on that pop and street artists, portrait paintingand lastly, the views of emerging artists To mark. When curating these exhibitions, our curation team is looking for new works to accompany the exhibition. I would therefore recommend that you regularly update your portfolio by uploading new works. We look forward to our upcoming exhibition LA womanshowcasing the work of 15 Los Angeles-based artists.
